ANKO SHINSHI NEWS FOR JANUARY 2012

Both Sensei Amanda and Sensei Dave would like to welcome you all back after Christmas and New year.

Hello to all our new students, its nice to see you and hope you enjoy training here at RSKC, you will be challenged on ability but this is designed to test and push you to a greater level.

Calendar
There is alot going on this year, Dougie will update the Calendar on the website as events are planned so please read it to see what is going on, we will also display all news, events, activities in table talkers in the dojo and even give you hand outs, so no excuses for not knowing what is going on.

Grading
Next grading 4th Feb 2012 here at our RSKA dojo starting at 10:45, conducted by Sensei Amanda and possibly a guest instructor, Fee is £20. If you want to grade please speak to us for advise, do not be upset if you are advised not to grade on this occasion as we want you to be ready and get a good pass, we need your book and money by Thursday 2nd Feb latest.

JSKA License renewals April 2012. We need your licence and Fees for the forthcoming year, £12 for JSKA and £8 RSKC membership, total £20 per person, the membership fee helps towards the very expensive insurance we as a club must hold.

All 1st kyu and above must also pay the JSKA Japan membership of £30 per person, this is compulsory, not instigated by RSKC, you cannot grade any higher if you do not hold this licence.  

As a matter of simplicity we want your thoughts on RSKC holding all licence books, we have had students lose books and have to purchase new ones, then pay to have all grades etc verified and stamped into the new book. Let us know your thoughts soonest so we can plan and implement for the forthcoming year.

Brown and Black Belt courses. RSKC Brown and Black belts are encouraged to attend these FREE courses, dates and venue on the calendar .

Sensei Abe Visit . May 23rd & 24th. All other details to follow once known, a good opportunity to train with the founder of the JSKA. If you want to attempt Shodan please take this opportunity.

Information
Tuesday night Adult and selected kids training for an hour, let Sensei Dave know if you are going to attend this, we will start at 19:30 (7:30pm), the sooner you let me know the sooner I will book the hall. 

Training Fees. Some have asked about paying by Standing Order, this can be arranged with Sensei Amanda as we will not give out the bank details for obvious reasons.

Future Training
All students will be working on " Expansion " in Jan 2012, still come to training, it will only be part lesson. We will display the Dojo Kun to be recited at the end of each lesson , The 20 Precepts will also be out and time will be allotted to read it, and of course questioned. Remember you only get back what you put in, so a good understanding is required to progress through the karate ranks.

Training. As the weather will be getting colder please bring or wear a coat for after training to keep the body temperature stable.
All bring, Mitts/Gumshields/ drink/towel to lessons, remember, inform us of any injuries, illness, before the lesson starts. Be prepared for the unusual, you can only learn from it.

Etiquette. Could we ask that all Parents / Guardians keep the noise levels down during the sessions, there is a small cafe area in the entrance that you are welcome to use, and even have a coffee at a small charge.

Posters, Booklets
Ideal for Tiny Tigers and junior students, are being produced by Dougie on good quality paper, they are a good addition to your training material, you have instant reference to your training. Available from Sensei Amanda or Dougie at a small cost.

Hoodies. You may have seen the Hoodies we have available, they cost £15 each, we have some on stock.

We have a special discount with Blitz Martial Arts supplier so if you require anything we will get you a good price, you can check online to see how much we can save you.
